I have been using HAWEI smartphones from HMS for 1.5 years. What has changed at that time?

A nawet wręcz przeciwnie. Tuż przed zbliżającą się premierą smartfonów z serii Nova, zobaczmy jak dzisiaj wygląda życie z HMS.Od 1,5 roku używam smartfonów Huawei z HMS. Co zmieniło się w tym czasie?

The beginnings of HMS were not easy. This is partly the effect of unnecessary panic

Panic will be definitely a very good term for what happened two years ago.Imprecise information and sometimes too emergency articles on the web caused that many Huawei smartphone users did not quite know what would happen next.To the extent that, as operator salon employees told me at the time, customers came to them with questions whether their smartphone, because of American sanctions, will continue to work.

Such a perception of the situation for many companies would be a reason to worry.Huawei said for it - we can't do it?!The company treated it as a challenge and something like a new way of life. When I asked Huawei representatives how they deal with it and what the moods look like, I never heard a complaint. On the contrary.I have heard about additional motivation to act.You didn't have to wait long for the effects.

Huawei is constantly developing HMS, and the changes made in the last two years are impressive

When Huawei started with smartphones equipped with Huawei Mobile Services, their capabilities were much more modest than today. The company focused on ensuring the most important needs of users. We got Polish versions of basic applications, but mainly those that could be created in a short time. These slightly more folded were postponed. These include primarily banks or transport applications. At the start in HMS we had 40 local applications available in the Appgalllers, including round zero was full integration with HMS.It was in October 2019.

Over time, the number of applications began to grow successively. In May 2020, the first banking application appeared in the Appgallery, and we waited for full integration with HMS until August.Currently, in the Appgallery we will find seven banking applications, of which in six of them you can use BLIK payments.

A year from the commercial entry to the market of the first smartphone from HMS, we already had over 1000 local applications in the Appgallery, including over 300 fully integrated with HMS.This was followed by a lot of support for developers.During the year, the number of websites intended for application developers increased from 2 to over 50, and Huawei has invested in their creation in Poland over PLN 20 million.Currently, there are over 34 thousand in the Appgalllery.applications, including 1,700 are productions of Polish companies.

Petal response to the needs of users

In the first months of the life of new smartphones from HMS, you had to a little gray -tone with applications.Huawei even unofficially recommended applications such as APK Pure or More Apps. They were used to download installers, files.APK, application. How it's working?A bit like on a computer.Instead of downloading the application from the store, which automatically unpacks it and installs it, we download the installer from the Internet and we manually install the program. For file search.APK is used by these programs. Is it difficult? In no case. This is still a very simple activity.

Huawei was constantly looking for non -standard ways to use applications that were not yet in the Appgallery store. Some of them could be downloaded, for example.directly from the website, as was the case with Facebook.A very good solution was also cloning, i.e. transferring data from an old smartphone using the Phone Clone application. In this way, it was easy to move the vast majority of programs from the old phone, to a new one.Even those that were not available in the Appgallery.

Huawei noticed that searching for application makes sense and created a hub called Petal.Petal is also a very functional set of functions, such as message aggregator, shopping, weather, translator, or content search engine, as well as applications themselves, suggesting the most trusted source. If the title is in the Appgallery, we will be sent there first. If it is in a popular website such as APK Mirror, we will download the application there.Because with mobile applications it is similar to computer.Downloading them from an undisturbed source, it is not known what can be found in them.Which can be a trap for less experienced users, which is effectively solved by petal. In a short time, something that was to be only an application used to search for content, became an integral part of the system, heavily integrated with Appgalllery.

1.5 years with a smartphone from HMS.How do I live with it?

I have been using the HMS smartphone since the premiere of Huawei P40 Pro, i.e. from April 2020.In the meantime, it was still P40 Lite, P40, P40 Pro+, Mate X2, and for almost a year with small breaks also Mate 40 Pro.Do I lack services, applications or possibilities? Not really and I know that there will be a lot of people who will think like just as many those for whom it will be unbearable.First things first.

I have always used Phone Clone to transfer used applications. In this way, I immediately copied the programs inaccessible in the Appgallery and basically the only incomplete application of these necessary was Twitter.I installed it by hand.Instead, there was, for example,.Chrome and Google maps.Chrome is synchronized with a Google account (added manually in the application), so they do not have to re -remember passwords or data of individual sites. The maps work ... normally. It's hard to say something more about them, but they are no longer used by third -party applications. This means that e.g..Uber or Uber Eats do not display maps, so they are unusable.I practically do not use Uber Eats on a daily basis, and we have two outputs with transport. The ride can be ordered via the web browser (which is very much facilitated by the previously mentioned Petal, which immediately takes us to the search address page) or simply replace them with an ITAXI or BOLTA APGALLERS.So in addition to journeys, we also have access to renting electric scooters.

I had no problem with other applications I used.Such as Outlook, BlueMail, Messenger, Netflix, Lightroom, Tidal and SkyCash. If something is not yet in the Appgallery, just install the program from another source. As for the bank, it may not be very sensible from the mBank application and at my own risk, I used it before integration with HMS and acted without any accusations.Currently, I already have full compatibility and the only lack are contactless payments by NFC.There are two outings, both very comfortable. The first is BLIK very popular in Poland, and the second is the NFC sticker.I admit that I do not know what it looks like in other banks, but there is such an option in mBank.

We must openly say that of course not everyone will be able to fully move to the HMS HMS smartphone. These are mainly people who use applications that require the integration of a smartphone with Google services.Such as Google Analytics, Save Files in the Google Cloud or Uber driver. How many such people are in the country?Relatively little.

Is there anything that I lack in the case of Mate 40 Pro?In fact, the only such function is Android Auto. But according to my information, Huawei is working to enable his similar solution to connect with cars using Android Auto.So as with many already working things, it is only a matter of time. And as we know well, Huawei is doing very well in creating car interfaces.

Huawei managed the challenge and showed that he was able to quickly develop HMS

Within two years, Huawei has created solutions that the vast majority of users allow you to fully use the HMS smartphone. And not on the principle - you have a scooter here instead of a car, after all, it also has wheels and drives, but it does it in a way that does not make us make our daily use of the equipment.

Huawei responds very quickly to the needs of users. What is the best example of petal. In turn, Appgalllery goes to those applications that are the most popular in Poland.Creating substitutes for several missing Google services is only a matter of time and this is not due to the inability to Huaweia, but is related to the desire of the application creators. They have to combine their programs with Huawei services.Nothing prevents Uber to use the Petal Maps (which by the way is already a functional alternative to Google maps, nor can you forget from the APPGALLER Automapa or TomTom maps available for a long time) and he went to Appgallery.Huawei, however, must first convince the creators of the application and show them that it is worth focusing on integration with HMS.This process is acting all the time.

Nobody pays me for using Huawei smartphones.I like EMUI interface, I like equipment capabilities, especially cameras, and I don't feel limited because of using the HMS device.I actually felt some anxiety for the first weeks of P40 Pro, but I quickly saw that there was nothing to be afraid of.And I am not in danger of a situation in which I will not be able to do something important, because my smartphone does not support it.
