I look at a photo taken with Google Pixel 6 and I don't believe what you see on it

Google Pixel 6 may be the first time to show us its photographic possibilities. The photo is very different from what we have been used to over the years. Is this what we expect from Google?

A dozen or so days before the premiere of Google Pixel 6, a photo that was allegedly taken with this phone (or the Pro variant) hit the network. Let's take a look at what has changed to Google's approach to mobile photography over the course of a year. And there are quite a lot of changes.

If someone had asked me to guess in a blind test which manufacturer's phone was used to take this photo, I would have indicated Samsung without hesitation. The colors and saturation clearly indicate that the software strongly interferes with the photography. It was the Korean manufacturer who had been offering this approach for years - in contrast to Apple, which usually preferred more natural colors.

This photo was supposedly taken with the help of Google Pixel 6 / photo. PhoneArena

Someone commenting on this particular photo on Twitter (unfortunately it was already removed before I could take the screenshot, but this may indicate that it was actually taken with the new Pixel) described it as "almost comic-book". I liked it, but it is very far from the standard that Google Pixel has got used to over the years.

Of course, there is always the option that after taking a photo it was simply edited. At the moment, we do not even know what matrix is behind the camera in Pixel 6. Leaks say 50 MP, so it may be Samsung ISOCELL GN1. However, this is a fairly old sensor, and the Korean manufacturer has already shown ISOCELL GN5 with the same resolution. The alternative is also the Sony IMX766.

Confirmed! Google Pixel 6 with its camera sweeps away all the competition in one fell swoop
