Sharp enters with the door. I saw new TVs with Android TV, soundbar and household appliances

Sharp has been in the shadows for the past few years, but is planning a big comeback. I've seen how he intends to do it, and I'm impressed. In the coming months, new TVs, radios and speakers will hit the market, as well as air purifiers, air conditioners and a cute aroma diffuser that can be controlled using Alexa.

Quantum Color TVs with Android... and two remote controls

Sharp is the most TV-related for me, so I'll start with this category. Big changes in the game await us. Sharp TVs have Android installed and components strong enough to easily play titles available on Google Stadia. All you need is a Bluetooth controller, low latency connection and you can play in 4K with HDR. Of course, there will also be something for traditionalists: 4 HDMI 2.1 connectors on the back of the housing are just waiting for the console to be connected.

This description is for the new line of Sharp 4K Ultra HD Android TVs with Quantum Dot screens. The Sharp EQ3 (black) and EQ4 (silver) are both modern and a bit retro - the speaker grilles of the EQ4 line bring to mind Sharp mini-systems. Their screens support HDR10, HLG and 12-bit Dolby Vision standards, the brightness of the screens reaches 400 nits, but thanks to the built-in light sensor it will adapt to the light in the environment. All sizes of TVs have Sharp-produced screens, except for the 55-inch.

The Sharp EQ TV range features near-invisible bezels around the screen and stylish feet. The housings are made of aluminum, which adds to their elegance. Beneath the grille is the Harman/Kardon 2-way speaker system, developed specifically for this series of TVs. The tweeters were directed forward to provide us with better dialogue reception, while the woofers were directed downwards, which deepens the bass in the background. These systems support Dolby Atmos and DTS:XTM. In the photo below you can see the system from the EQ4 series (silver) - it's the bigger one, with the speakers facing different directions.

What will the controls look like? Sharp doesn't intend to limit anyone. The set will include a traditional remote control with numerous buttons, a more modern remote control with a cursor, and an app for the phone will also be available. Only the Google Assistant will be a problem, because you can't talk to him in Polish.

Sharp EQ TVs have a triple HD tuner that receives DVB-C (cable), DVB-T/T2 (terrestrial) and DVB-S/S2 (satellite). In addition, we will get a slot for a microSD card, two USB ports for external drives and about 7,000 applications and multimedia libraries available for Android TV. Players will enjoy 4 HDMI 2.1 ports and 3 months of access to the Google Stadia cloud bundled with the TV.

How about a 2.1 Dolby Atmos soundbar for this?

The large family of soundbars will be joined by the affordable HT-SBW202, designed for TV sets over 40 inches. The set consists of a stereo beam, a wireless subwoofer and a remote control. The device has a maximum output power of 200 W, three factory equalizer presets (news, movie and music) and the ability to add your own preset. You can connect to it with an optical cable, via Bluetooth, a 3.5 mm jack cable or connect a music drive via USB. There's also an HDMI ARC/CEC port for easy connection to your TV.

The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos surround sound and makes a great live impression - both thanks to the sound space and thanks to its soft shapes. I also like the dimmable LED display and buttons on the side panel. Sometimes they're easier to find than the remote.

Radios, loudspeakers, loudspeakers

In Europe, FM radio is becoming a thing of the past and DAB digital radios are becoming more and more popular. Sharp offers two series of Tokyo and Osaka DAB radios in this segment. In total, we will see 4 new portable models, including one pocket radio, one home radio and two new systems. One of the systems could be Sharp's flagship among those who remember mini-towers from the nineties. When I saw the XL-B615I micro sound system, I felt nostalgic. Well - I also had a Sharp mini system in my youth.

XL-B615I Streaming Micro System allows you to easily switch between 30,000 radio stations from around the world. Since we use internet radio here, the DAB signal is not a problem. Just select the country and you can enjoy access to all digital stations. In addition to the Internet radio, the microsystem is equipped with a Bluetooth interface, a CD player, an Aux input and a USB port, so you can listen to music even from files on a disk. In addition, it can directly connect to Spotify, Amazon Music and Deezer. The successor of the mini-tower also has a 2.8-inch color screen and a mobile application for control. In the app, for example, you can find on Spotify a song heard on the radio - brilliant! The total power of the two-way speakers is 90 W.

Radios from the Tokyo series are pleasing to the eye. Their style brings to mind radios from several decades ago, and the pastel colors are beautiful. The radios have Bluetooth and space for AA batteries, so they can go on the go.

The Osaka series is supposed to be elegant and more austere. It is also more advanced. Sharp used an interesting solution here, improving the reception of BestTune. It combines all available DAB and FM stations in one list and selects the best signal to make your life easier and more comfortable. This series also has color screens where you can display visuals, album art, weather forecast, news and so on. The icing on the cake: these radios are portable thanks to the built-in batteries.

The CP-SS30 bookshelf speaker is a product for me. It is a two-way, active speaker 60 W RMS (2 x 30 W) in a housing imitating a standalone column for a mini tower. This product is a response to the revival of turntables and the needs of working from home, which makes me very happy - I am in both target groups. These speakers can be connected in many ways: wirelessly via Bluetooth, Aux-in input, Phono (there is a phono preamplifier), optical input and you can connect a USB drive with music files. There will be two housing colors to choose from.

At the end of Sharp's stand simulating the IFA trade fair, there were products of a larger calibre. The PS-949 party speaker is coming soon with a total maximum power of 200W, a battery that allows up to 13 hours of playing time, lights and sound effects for aspiring DJs, and there are also guitar and microphone inputs. Two such monsters can work as a wireless stereo set and get a big party going. Music can be played from a USB drive, via the Aux cable and via Bluetooth. There was also a handle for easy carrying.

For the more demanding, high-performance portable speakers were created: CP-LS100 and CP-LS200. These are products aimed at musicians and artists performing live, but not on stage with a monitor system. It is also Sharp's debut in this segment, and its partner is Devialet.
