The best TV deals this weekend!

So what should you pay attention to?

Resolution? At least 4K

If you are not planning to buy a TV with a small diagonal, such as 32 inches, then you should consider buying the most popular standard today - 4K. In this resolution, you will watch movies and series on popular streaming platforms, play many games on new consoles, and see the first TV channels broadcast in Poland in 4K.

8K is not a bad choice, but the shortage of content for this resolution makes it a choice only for people who plan to buy a TV for many years, and at the same time have a rich wallet - you still have to pay a little extra for 8K resolution.

Smart TV

Without Smart TV, don't move. Today, many people use a TV without having a TV. It is thanks to Smart TV that we can browse the web, watch movies and series on streaming platforms, and even have fun with simple games. Some TV sets also offer the option of issuing commands by voice (it is worth checking if the Polish language is available!), as well as operating the TV using mobile applications.

What matrix? LCD/LED, QLED and OLED

The three most popular matrices today are LED, QLED and OLED. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Classic LED will be the cheapest, which is why it is still the most common choice. The disadvantages of this solution are usually uneven backlight - in dark scenes parts of the screen may be brighter, although there should be black on them.

QLED is a Samsung proprietary solution that adds quantum dots to classic LEDs. This allows for more colors and better contrast, which should make the colors appear "alive".

OLED is a technology that uses organic diodes. Because each pixel can be lit and dimmed individually, OLED TVs offer the best and deepest blacks. Their disadvantages, in turn, are still a slightly higher price and the risk of "burning" the image when it is used contrary to the recommendations (e.g. displaying static images for several hours).

HDMI 2.1 not only for gamers

Current consoles, but also computers, can generate an image in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second. Only HDMI 2.1 at the moment is able to send an image with such parameters. In addition, it allows for a variable refresh rate and the activation of Auto Low Latency Mode, which reduces delays in the transmission of the signal from the console controller to the TV.

There are still many TVs on the market with older types of connectors that will be great for watching TV, movies and series, but gaming fans should seriously consider HDMI 2.1. In any case, it is also worth paying attention to the image refresh rate itself - TVs with 100/120 Hz support offer a much smoother and more pleasing image than 50/60 Hz screens.
