You will unlock your iPhone with a face mask. Apple Watch will take care of it

The new version of the firmware for Apple Watch watches - watchOS 7.4 - is a sign of our time. During the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. The point is, many iPhone users complain that in order to unlock the phone, they have to remove the face mask or enter a code. Long story short - Face ID didn't work when someone had a mask. Now there is an improvement, but it requires an Apple smartwatch.

The clock's operating system replaces the need to use Face ID or enter Passcode. If we have a watch on our wrist and the iPhone itself detects that we have a mask on our face, it will unlock the phone. For everything to work properly, your Apple Watch needs to be close to your iPhone, unlocked, and set to be protected with a numeric code.

Odblokujesz iPhone’a z maseczką na twarzy. Sprawę załatwi Apple Watch

From the perspective of the iPhone 12 and Apple Watch 6 user, it is an extremely convenient solution for me. True, and so onerous. Owners of previous generations of iPhones, such as the iPhone 8 or iPhone SE, have this problem overcome, because they only need a fingerprint to unlock the smartphone. I have no idea why Apple hasn't gone in the direction of different unlocking possibilities for its devices like the competition. After all, mounting a fingerprint reader under the screen or on the back of the device is no longer anything new or difficult, but the Cupertino giant loves to be behind.

In order to be able to unlock an iPhone via Apple Watch, you must have the smartphone's firmware updated to iOS 14.5.
