Xperia Compact is to be Sony's answer to the iPhone 12 mini

Sony is supposedly working on the new compact Xperia.The smartphone, which will be a competitor for the iPhone 12 Mini, is to have a 5.5-inch display and a double camera on the back panel.

140 x 68.9 x 8.9 mm - such dimensions are to have Xperia Compact, i.e. the flagship, compact Sony smartphone, which the Japanese manufacturer is working on.The device with a 5.5-inch will be larger than the iPhone 12 mini, but still small enough to attract people looking for a well-equipped Android phone, but of small sizes.At least, the Japanese have such hope, because it turns out that the demand for small flagships is not particularly high.Apple apparently found out about this, which - according to some sources - decided to reduce the production of the smallest iPhone due to its much less sales, compared to larger models.In the period from October to November 2020, the iPhone 12 Mini was to constitute only 6% of the total sales of the iPhone 12.

Let's return to the upcoming Xperia.In it, the screen will be surrounded by quite wide frames, at least this is how the renderings just published, which allegedly present this model.In the upper part of the display we see an indentation for the lens of the front camera with a resolution of 8 Mpix.On the back we will find two more cameras, including the main resolution of 13 Mpix.The fingerprint reader is integrated with the power button, the 3.5 mm audio jack is also included.

The compact Xperia is to debut in the spring of 2021, while its presentation may take place next month.
