Are you rooting a Samsung smartphone? Then say goodbye to the camera

Samsung has a specific method to discourage rooting and modifying the Galaxy Z Fold 3

As reported by Android Police, during the rooting process (or, if you prefer, unlocking) Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, users are displayed on the screen with information that if the process is continued, the phone's camera will be turned off. It goes something like this:

It will interest you Xiaomi does rebranding, Mi will not regret ... Manufacturers copy magnetic accessories from Apple and make the same mistakes

"Unlock the bootloader to install the custom operating system. This process will disable the camera, and applications will not function properly. To prevent unauthorized access to your personal data, the phone will be reset to factory settings, which will completely erase your data, including files and downloaded applications. . "

And in fact, after booting a booted device, the camera application does not have access to it - therefore you cannot even use the face recognition system. We are talking about the inability to launch the camera both by applications integrated with the operating system, as well as external programs. Let's be honest - no matter how good a custom rom would be, with locked camera support, the smartphone loses one of its most important functions.

The Android Police service points out that most people will probably not read the information on the screen and will not know that they have deprived themselves of access to the camera. Of course, these are not the first similar actions of this type, Knox keeps watch over the smartphone and if it detects that it has been modified, it will also disable Samsung Pay support and deprive the user of its security systems. It is even written in the service documentation - if you upload an unofficial Android, you will lose access to Samsung Knox, although we are talking about the system, not about unlocking the bootloader. But it also sounds quite logical, it is rather difficult to expect that a service prepared for Samsung and operating on the basis of the official Android and their own system overlay will be able (and Samsung wanted) to investigate what Android is currently installed and to what extent it can provide the user with security. This is not why the Korean company loads millions of dollars into improving Knox in order to be unsure about its effectiveness and then expose itself to lawsuits related to data leaks.

Rootujesz smartfon Samsunga? W takim razie pożegnaj się z aparatem

It also seems that the topic only applies to the large Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, similar information was not displayed when trying to root the Galaxy Z Flip.

On the web, of course, a move, because how is it - bad Samsung makes life difficult for people who want to use a different version of the operating system on their smartphone. We asked the Polish branch of Samsung for a position on the matter, as soon as we get it, it will appear in the text.

How is it in your case? Is there a moment when you decide to root and install custom roms, or do you stay faithful to the software that was installed there by the manufacturer until the last day of using your smartphone?
