OnePlus Nord N10 5G review. This phone surprised me

OnePlus Nord N10 5G review. This phone surprised me

What we see above is proof that the OnePlus Nord N10 is a classic mid-shelf. However, everything is fastened so precisely that this phone works like representatives of much higher price shelves. Anyway, it's no secret that averages are new flagships in 2020 and we don't have to pay a lot to have a smartphone that simply doesn't jam. show the performance of this phone. The set of benchmarks includes 3DMark, PCMark and Geekbench tests. The results are as follows: During everyday work, I also noticed absolutely no signs of slowing down. All applications load quickly and stay in memory for a longer time. Switching between them is also very convenient and smooth. The Nord N10 5G can easily handle games, and the 5G transmission support will allow you to enjoy smooth gameplay streaming, for example, as part of the Xbox Game Pass or GeForce Now service. The screen in the Nord N10 is a noticeable regression compared to the AMOLED display used in the classic, more expensive version Nord. Its maximum brightness is 440 nits, and the minimum - 2.4 nits. Sunlight readability is generally good for this price range. It is obvious that the AMOLED screen would look much better, but this IPS also gives advice. Of course, I also have to mention the 5G network support noticeable in the name itself. This is one of the cheaper smartphones that offer support for this technology. We also have space for two nanoSIM cards. The presence of NFC is also pleasing, which enables the use of contactless payments.

Android 10? No, it's Oxygen OS

On board the OnePlus Nord N10 we will of course find Android 10, but it's not ordinary Android. From the very beginning, OnePlus has made sure that its proprietary overlay called OxygenOS faithfully adheres to the idea of a clean system, while polishing many important elements that Google has somehow ignored. In my opinion, OxygenOS is probably the perfect Android. Oxygen has many more customization options than the default pure Android. At the same time, OnePlus did not collapse the system with a lot of unnecessary junk applications, limiting itself only to what is most important and useful. What's more - the manufacturer has collected all its applications in one folder, which we can easily remove from the home screen. It includes apps like OnePlus Switch to help you transfer data from another phone, a very useful File Manager, and Games Center. Also worth mentioning is OnePlus Launcher which is so good I skipped installing Nova Launcher which is my default launcher on almost every phone I use. We can personalize it according to your own preferences. Want to have all your apps on multiple screens? Here you go! Prefer an app drawer? You also have that option. Prefer a different set of icons? No problem!

Battery. It lasts long and charges quickly

The battery size in OnePlus Nord N10 5G does not go beyond the norm - it's 4300 mAh, which is enough for a whole day of work. About 7-8 hours of screen-on time is totally achievable. However, that's not all, because if we manage to unload it, the recharging process is really fast. OnePlus has added a special charger with the Warp Charge brand to the set. The manufacturer promises a "whole day of work" in half an hour, and it is possible, as long as we do not squeeze the last juices out of the phone. In the event of an emergency, we can also turn on the Energy Saving mode, which will allow you to take extra minutes of smartphone operation. This is not an advanced "Ultra Battery Saver" mode, but in exceptional cases it should help.

Camera - just class

OnePlus Nord N10 5G review. This phone surprised me

A camera with a lot of pixels in a mid-range phone is nothing surprising. We have been able to see many times that the numbers in the specification are not everything. Image processing has a huge impact on the quality of photos. The king in this category is of course Google Pixel, but OnePlus is also doing great in this matter. OnePlus Nord N10 5G has proven that even an average person can take great photos. The quality of photos and videos that we are able to record with this smartphone really surprised me positively. The photos are clear, the colors are very well reproduced and the camera application itself works very smoothly. What can we find on board? The main sensor is a 64-megapixel matrix. The wide angle is 8-megapixels and the viewing angle is 119 degrees. In addition, there is also a 2-megapixel camera for detecting depth in portrait mode and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Interestingly, we can move smoothly between the lenses also during video recording. The transition is visible, but the video still looks very good. It is true that we will not find optical image stabilization here, but the recorded image is stable and clear. A slow motion mode is also available. For more demanding photographers, a professional mode is available. In terms of software, OnePlus has done a really great job. This is a great achievement, because many other manufacturers have a big problem with this issue. In this case it worked! I didn't even think about trying to install the GCam port, which can save the day in the most hopeless cases. The camera interface is identical to other higher-end OnePlus phones. It also supports Nightscape mode, which is simply night mode. There is also a function to take photos in native 64 megapixel resolution. In addition, we have Pro mode, Time lapse, panorama, timer, video in HEVC format. What this camera can do is best checked for yourself. Unfortunately, the weather during the tests was not conducive to taking pictures, but nevertheless the Nord N10 did a great job: Pictures in better quality can be seen HERE.

Summary - I'm impressed

OnePlus Nord N10 5G is a great average. I am aware that I have used this phrase several times while testing other interesting smartphones in this price range. In the case of OnePlus Nord, however, I had the impression that I was using a smartphone that was refined in every respect. You can see that these phones are created with attention to the greatest details and it is noticeable even in the cheaper devices offered by this manufacturer. OnePlus Nord N10 5G costs about $ 300 on AliExpress (~ PLN 1,100). I think it's a really fair price, considering all the advantages of this smartphone. In addition, the equipment is offered with a 3-day delivery from the Polish warehouse at no additional cost. The smartphone received the "Good Product" award.
