Samsung Galaxy A52s mobile phone review. The bestseller got an even more powerful chipset

Camera

Decent four-page camera, only zoom is missing. The photographic equipment is decent for the middle class. The equipment was equipped with a 64MPx camera with pixel binning (4: 1) and a brightness of 1.8. It is helped by a 12MPx wide (F2.2) with a 123 ° scene, a 5MPx macro (F2.4) and also a 5MPx portrait camera (F2.4), which blurs the background. The main sensor is optically stabilized, the focus is PDAF type. If we are to compare the photo quality of the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A52s 5G, we agreed that both phones are practically the same.

Camera user interface and available photo modes

Under decent outdoor light, the photos are very good, the benefits of HDR are significant, but we like the scene optimizer less. Often the scene cannot be adequately recognized, and if so, its benefits are minimal. The feature at least recommends you switch to macro, night mode, wide angle camera or full 64 Megapixels to enjoy more detail. But you have to reckon with the fact that the size of the photo will increase by over 30 MB (compared to a maximum of 5MB images or 15MB portrait photos).

Artificial intelligence sometimes recommends switching to another mode, and the Entertainment mode with Snapchat filters also appears in the menu

The main sensor has no problem focusing at close range, you may come across it only when photographing details against a strongly structured background. When switching photo modes, you sometimes have to expect a longer delay; apart from the speed dials in the viewfinder, you have all the active options available in the settings. Take macros only in good light, otherwise the resulting photos will be of poor quality. Even so, there is not much to lose. When shooting indoors, the quality of the photos is reduced and color fidelity is lost. The wide screen has the same color rendering as the main sensor in good light, but details are lost from the edges of the images.

Exit the Single Take mode and view photos in the Gallery, which also includes a hilarious photo editor

A novelty in the Galaxy A series is Night Mode, which, however, has no setting options. If you take a photo by hand, the maximum exposure time is fixed 5 seconds, if you attach it to a tripod, you will get a time two seconds longer. Likewise, the popular Single Take mode has no great options, which automatically converts the recording of the surroundings into photos and videos with applied effects. By the way, there aren't many of them, you have a lot more options in the Galaxy S21 series.

Additional camera settings

You will also like the portrait mode, the background blur is quite well taken care of by artificial intelligence, which works with a "lubricating" lens. Entertainment mode uses effects from Snapchat, the equipment also includes modes Pro Photo, Pro Video, Panorama or shooting super slow videos in HD resolution.

Overall, we like the variability of the camera, which is very decent for the middle class, we miss practically only the optical zoom from the Galaxy A72, which would be more usable than a detph camera. You can easily print photos during the day or post them on social networks, when using the night mode, the details stand out better from dark photos, but the "es" series can do much more magic with night photos.

Sample photos:

Main sensor, ultra-wide image and 2 × in-sensor zoom.
The maximum digital zoom is eightfold
Photos in sunny weather
Photo under cloudy sky
Macros aren't too high ...
... the details taken with the main camera are much better
Portrait photography defends its quality, but blur sometimes looks a bit artificial
Photos from the interior
Automatic and night mode

Selfie camera has a resolution of 32MPx and a brightness of F2.2. Unfortunately, it doesn't support autofocus, so you can't expect miracles from it. Paradoxically, you can get the best images by taking a selfie portrait with an effectively blurred background. The selfies from the interior are dull, sometimes foggy and lack much-needed face details.

Sample selfie:

Basic and "wide" selfie
Good selfies in the day
Inside and at night, it's a bit worse with the quality of selfies

The phone can record videos in a maximum resolution of 4K with 30 fps, the alternative is Full HD videos with 60 fps, which is suitable for recording a smooth water surface. The same applies to videos as to photographs, stabilization can be seen in the recording only at Full HD resolution, we also like the color rendering, including the sound component. The bonus is super stable videos, for which you will really need enough light, otherwise the additional stabilization will be quite noticeable.
