We spent a day with a Huawei smartphone. Here are the 5 things we noticed

Huawei smartphones have undergone a real revolution since 2019. At least when it comes to software. however, Huawei has been intensively developing its own solutions for two years, which we use on phones from this manufacturer.

The core of these devices today is the HMS Core development environment, It's about Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). Its part, in turn, is the AppGallery application store. What things should you pay attention to when using a Huawei smartphone?

1. Very fast and very intuitive

If we were to spend the day with a smartphone, the first step after starting a phone equipped with Huawei Mobile Services would be to log in to the Huawei ID. Why? This is an account from which we get access to the most important services on the phone. It can be said that Huawei ID is the key to the Huawei mobile world.

Creating an account and logging in to the service is very easy, all you need is a phone number or e-mail address and a few minutes of free time. Since then, we are able to synchronizing data between different Huawei phones and accessing many services, such as AppGallery.

What stands out is how easy it is to set up an account. It only takes a moment, and you can use your existing email address in the process. Any smartphone user can handle it.

2. One account for everything

A Huawei account opens the door to all services that are included in Huawei Mobile Services. One of the most important is the Cloud. As part of the free limit, we have 5 GB of data space to use. The Huawei Cloud allows, among others, to synchronize photos in the gallery, contacts from the phone book, calendar, notepad, browser or maps.

The principle of operation is simple, when we already have some data saved as part of one of the Huawei applications (e.g. events in the calendar), they are automatically transferred to all other devices on which we have logged in with the same Huawei ID. We can also manage the details of specific devices from the phone settings.

The cloud can also come in handy for backing up your data. This is a useful thing, because in the event of loss, theft or damage to the phone, the most important data, a copy of which we store in the cloud, can be easily recovered.

3. Nothing is missing here

The smartphone has one essential task. To make our lives easier, to help us accomplish specific tasks. What to do if at school, work or at home, it turns out that we need a specific tool? It is also worth noting that on the Huawei device we will find all the mobile applications we need on a daily basis. These include basic tools such as calculator, weather, contacts, smart remote, compass, notepad, documents or videos.

Huawei, however, has not forgotten about the most important applications, thanks to which you do not need to install additional third-party programs. There is, therefore, an original web browser, Phone Clone (for cloning data between phones), Themes (we can choose them from a database containing thousands of proposals) or Petal Maps created by Huawei.

It's worth stopping for a while. Although Huawei only released maps last year, they are already a great alternative to third-party maps. Directions are presented in a neat and logical way, and the application itself works amazingly smooth and efficient. This is a big plus.

4. Everyday helper at hand

Daily responsibilities often make us live in a hurry. It is worth remembering that thanks to HMS, the Huawei Assistant was also made available to the user, which is our personal assistant in everyday matters. We access it by sliding the home screen to the right, so it is always at hand.

The assistant suggests applications that we will potentially want to use, displays news from the world, sports results, weather forecast, time of using the device, number of steps taken or upcoming events in the calendar. This is a place where we have everything at hand. It is worth noting that here too - as in the case of Maps - everything works quickly, efficiently and has been intuitively designed.

5. AppGallery application store

Our everyday life is not only work and duties, but also entertainment. In the AppGallery store, we will find many ways to have a good time, download games, applications for watching movies or series. In the case of new Huawei smartphones, we have AppGallery at our disposal. This is currently the third largest repository of apks that comes pre-installed on Huawei devices.

Currently, the AppGallery store already has over 1,700 applications from Polish manufacturers. In total, 34,000 are available for users. items to download. . Huawei's proprietary store is used by 550 million active users around the world, and only in 2020 the platform grew by as much as 83 percent. What's more, Huawei is still developing it, because many new applications appear in the database every day.

Navigating the AppGallery interface is intuitive and hassle-free. We will also quickly find some popular programs, such as Tidal, InPost, Allegro, Snapchat, TikTok and a lot of financial management applications from the largest banks in Poland. Individual programs are still missing (especially the American ones), but most often their lack can be replaced with one of the alternative applications.

If necessary, applications that are not in AppGallery can also be installed from Petal Search. It is a search engine that allows you to find many programs on the web. In addition, Petal works like a traditional search engine that we always have at hand (we have access to it from the bar on the start screen). For example, it allows you to quickly check the weather forecast, shows the most important information from the world, converts exchange rates or answers the most important questions by providing links to the article on the web. It is therefore a great complement to other Huawei services included in HMS.
