The cleaning cloth from Apple is sold in Poland for PLN 99. Its price is quite controversial, even among fans of the brand. iFixit decided to check what's inside and whether it's actually worth the money.

There is no denying that the new Apple product did not go unnoticed, and in some circles of the network it became even more popular than this year's MacBooks. However, it is hardly surprising, given the fact that customers do not necessarily get such a product as presented by the company.

Not very snowy white

When ordering a cloth, you can conclude, based on the photos, that you will receive a snow-white fabric with the Apple logo. Nothing could be more wrong. It's actually a piece of gray fabric, and as iFixit notes, it feels identical to the inside lining of the iPad case.

During further review of the cloth, the service pointed out that it is actually two cloths glued together. It's hard to be surprised by the funny remark that if someone feels disappointed with the price, it's enough to unstick them. Then we gain two products, each at PLN 49.5 each. Probably, however, fans of the brand will not resort to this step.

The most important fruit

But this is not the end of the tests that iFixit conducted. Under the microscope, we should be able to discover what determines the price and quality of this amazing cloth. While on the left we will only see a regular cleaning cloth, on the right the whole magic is supposed to happen:

Fine fibers, intricately woven together, come together to become not just a cleaning tool, but an object of beauty that is itself worthy of being cleaned. Among the beauty, a thin line delicately outlines the shape of humanity's basic fruit: the apple. Wait a minute, it's a piece of cloth. What are we doing here? Where did it come from? And where did our twenty dollars go?

The iFixit analysis, while entertaining, may leave the reader with a few questions in their minds. Where is the line at which selling a piece of fabric with an embroidered logo becomes absurd and not successful marketing? Everyone has to answer that for himself. In the meantime, Apple counts profits and, probably, rubs its hands seeing how the ad does itself.
