iOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3 and others. What do the new updates from Apple bring?

iOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3 and others. What do the new updates from Apple bring?

iOS 15.2, watchOS 8.3 and macOS Monterey 12.1 are the latest "bigger" updates that Apple released on Monday in December. These are likely the last updates in 2021 worth installing. They bring some important novelties that we have been waiting for for several months. Check why it is worth updating your devices with the bitten apple logo.

The most important changes to Apple systems

Apple probably updated all of its most important devices for the last time in 2021. The most interesting update is for computers with macOS Monterey. The previously shared SharePlay feature for iPadOS and iOS appears here.

From now on, MacBook and iMac users will be able to share the image from their screen or selected applications during a FaceTime call to watch and comment on events, memories, music or other things together.

We also finally have a redesigned Photos or Reminders application, as well as a fixed bug with the display of the bar in the new MacBook Pro. MacOS Monterey 12.1 has practically all the changes that have been missing in this system so far in relation to iPadOS or iOS.

On the other hand, iOS 15.2, iPadOS 15.2 and watchOS 8.3 bring the highly anticipated Application Privacy Report feature. It is true that it already appeared in the first version of iOS 15, although it did not have a visual layer - the function only generated a text report on the information that the applications were downloading.

From now on, this is changing and in the Privacy (Settings) section, you will see information about how often the applications accessed your location, camera, microphone or other sensors.

Both MacOS Monterey 12.1 and iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 now include a feature that allows you to inherit user account and data.

All systems also come with a sizable list of bug fixes and minor enhancements.

How to prepare for the update?

Systems update can be downloaded by tapping on the Settings icon, going to the General section, and then Updating. Before this happens, it is worth making a full backup of the data stored on our devices.

There are two options available for this, the first assumes a full backup to the iCloud cloud, which is performed automatically when we have this option turned on in the settings, and the device is connected to charging, locked and is within the range of the Wi-Fi network.

The second known way is to use iTunes on Windows or the Finder on macOS. Here it is enough to connect the smartphone to the computer and use synchronization to download the most important data.
